Onbe

Software Engineer June 2018 - Present

I joined Onbe to leverage my software and data engineering skills in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. I focused on enhancing the real-time payment platform's stability by establishing data-driven KPIs and implementing tools to increase visibility into system performance.

I enhanced system reporting by creating dynamic real-time visualizations and alerts based on statistical analysis of platform performance trends, and I led a full-stack development project to automate common manual production support tasks.

I am currently working with the business intelligence team to find and present valuable business insights to internal and client stakeholders by building custom analytics solutions. I often focus on creating and tuning complex SQL scripts, building fully automated end-to-end ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) data pipelines, and making intuitive, incisive, and beautiful visualizations.

University of Pennsylvania

Research Director August 2014 - May 2018

After completing my graduate studies, I joined a research initiative at Wharton exploring the role of private equity investment in impact investing.

As one of the first full-time employees, I helped build a new research center under the auspices of a top global academic institution. I was fortunate to travel globally to advocate for the research and to find additional partners to support the work.

Day-to-day, I built the technical infrastructure needed to amass the data for a marquee research project, faciliated research participation by creating partnerships with fund managers, and managed a team of students from Penn, Wharton, and Penn Law who assisted with the data collection and processing efforts. I implemented statistical models and conducted financial performance analysis, and co-authored white paper research that was featured in several media publications and was utilized in practice by banks, foundations, and family offices to inform investment decision-making.

McMaster-Carr

Operations Supervisor January 2010 - June 2014

I began my career in a rotational management development program at a best-in-class B2B industrial supply distributor, McMaster-Carr. Working as a supervisor and internal consultant, I was immediately immersed in an organization that valued data-driven insights and continuous improvement.

During one project, I researched why a small cluster of manufacturers in one industry seemed to have such widely divergent purchasing behaviors. After a deep-dive into that industry, I discovered a key insight to inform a targeted marketing approach that was implemented across all branches.

For another project, I queried through massive amounts of warehouse event data to identify salient insights which empowered me to recommend and implement operational improvements to improve warehouse throughput velocity, lower shipment error rates, increase cost-efficiency, and improve employee safety.

During another project, I was tasked with using predicative statistical modeling to optimize staffing schedules for our call center in order to maintain rapid response rates to incoming customer calls.
